The Cabaret of Lost Men

A multiple award-winning work both nationally and abroad, this powerful musical performance based on taboo themes was written by Cristian Simeón, with music by Patrick Laviosa and directed by the talented Lía Jelín.

Dicky, a character with a complicated past and confronted with lots of difficulties, arrives at the cabaret where he meets his Fate, who foresees his uncertain and painful future: a successful career as a gay-porn actor and his subsequent fall and failure. With the proposal of the other two characters, the Barman and Lullaby, Fate must give him two alternatives in order to let the protagonist’s free will come into play. But is it possible to choose or is living in the present the only valid alternative? Various scenarios are thus played out, where the formidable cast embodies multiple characters.

Although the text is at times ironic and irreverent; at others, it brings spectators face to face with a harsh reality permeated by loneliness and fear.

The score and musical direction are entrusted to Gaby Goldman; the sets and costumes to René Diviú; the lighting to Gonzalo Córdova; and the choreography to Seku Faillace.
