Dangerous Liaisons

Description

"Seduction" is the main theme of the famously frivolous epistolary novel "Dangerous Liaisons" (originally «Les Liaisons dangereuses») written by the French officer Pierre-Ambroise-François Choderlos de Laclos. In his bitter, angry portrayal of life in the doomed Ancien Régime, he describes, in 1782, the depravity of high society and provides us with a powerful study of sex as a tool in manipulative power games that touches the heart of every reader, even today. In a commission by the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, the famous German writing duo of Wolfgang Adenberg and Marc Schubring have transformed the highly erotic, malicious material into an exciting new musical. In the stunning rococo setting of the Cuvilliés Theatre, it will be produced in this fascinating version in February 2015 by Artistic Director Josef E. Köpplinger, supported by star choreographer Adam Cooper from London's West End!
